Spain's ministry published the order for a peninsular capacity market. Generation, batteries and demand can earn for being available in stress hours. Consumers and suppliers fund it through time-differentiated unit charges - stress periods capped at 10% of the year carry more of the cost.
OCP Green Energy energised a 25 MW / 125 MWh lithium iron phosphate battery at the Benguerir phosphate mining site in Morocco - five hours at full power - and began progressive commissioning. The box sits with the site's solar so daytime generation can cover later industrial demand.
Clean Energy Regulator: solar between 100 kW and 1 MW installed from 1 October 2026 can create small-scale technology certificates under a fixed five-year deeming period. STC applications open mid to late November. Install date is the commissioning date on the electrical compliance certificate.
